Becky
Becky is the Arise Counselling Service Manager which involves leading the counselling team, processing counselling requests and assisting with any safeguarding concerns or enquiries.
Becky has a heart for listening to people and a real interest in hearing each individual’s unique life story. She aims to provide each client with a space where they feel truly safe to be themselves and explore what is troubling them.
Becky is an integrative counsellor, who follows the person-centred approach, believing that each client has the potential to reach their goals, if provided with the right therapeutic conditions. Becky also enjoys working creatively, which enables clients to explore their thoughts and feelings through a different lens.Becky is a member of the ACC (Association of Christian Counsellors), and studied with Waverley Abbey College, completing a Diploma in Counselling. Becky also has many years’ experience working with people in distress, both in her previous role with the Police, and more recently within private healthcare. This has given Becky a real passion for caring for people and providing them with a space that is encouraging, supportive and non-judgemental.
Becky is passionate about the power of being truly heard, and for anyone that knows the Starfish Story, she is inspired by the idea – ‘it made a difference to that one’ (adapted from The Star Thrower, by Loren Eiseley).
